Collaborative Health Systems MSSP ACOs Achieved $40.8 Million in Total Medicare Savings in 2021

The Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) has been the leading and most popular government alternative payment program since its introduction with the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and it continues to deliver value.
In 2021, our provider partners achieved $40.87 million in total savings to the Medicare program through MSSP, a 13% increase from 2020, and achieved $16.99 million in earned shared savings, a 19% increase from 2020. With CMS’s recently proposed changes to increase participation, there is an opportunity for more providers to generate similar savings while reaching more beneficiaries and achieving greater health equity.

Collaborative Health Systems (CHS) is a management services organization that partners with independent primary care physicians as they move to value-based models. Its core belief is that primary care physicians are in the best position to influence the quality and cost of healthcare.
