Collaborative Health Systems Expands to Three Direct Contracting Entities under Direct Contracting Program in 2022

TAMPA, Fla. (March 1, 2022) – Collaborative Health Systems (CHS) is pleased to announce its expanded participation in the Global and Professional Direct Contracting (GPDC) Model for Performance Year 2022 (PY2022). This news follows the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) announcement that a total of 49 Direct Contracting Entities (DCEs) are participating in the second year of the value-based care initiative.

CHS was an early adopter of the GPDC Model in 2021 as part of its commitment to improving quality of care while reducing healthcare costs. CHS will now manage three DCEs in PY2022, which will help more providers navigate the administrative and financial changes associated with value-based care. The three CHS DCEs partner with more than 1,000 participating providers across 25 states while positively impacting the quality of care for more than 25,000 Medicare beneficiaries.

“CHS is honored to continue helping providers nationwide navigate the shift to value-based care of which Direct Contracting plays an important part in the path forward,” said Anthony Valdés, President of Collaborative Health Systems. “We look forward to many years of continued partnership with both our providers and CMS to strengthen value-based care models that improve the lives of Medicare beneficiaries.”

Last week CMS announced it would continue the Direct Contracting program for 2023 under the new name of Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Realizing Equity, Access, and Community Health (REACH) Model. CHS issued this statement in support of the model.
